ProtoShare has a robust copy-and-paste system. You can cut or copy a selection of components from the canvas or outline and paste them elsewhere on the same design, or on an entirely different design. Any states that are used will be re-created when pasting, if needed.

Note: If you have any components selected when you paste, the new components will be inserted next to those components. Otherwise, the new components will be positioned as they were when they were copied.

To copy and paste components:

1. Select the components on the canvas.
2. Choose Copy from your web browser’s Edit menu.
3. If you want to paste the components on another design, open that design.
4. Choose Paste from your web browser’s Edit menu.

To duplicate components with drag-and-drop:

1. Select the components on the canvas.
2. Press and hold the Alt (or Option) key to change the drag operation from move to copy.
3. Drag the components and drop them in the desired location.
4. Release the Alt (or Option) key.
